【Investment Seminar on Manhattan Economic Zone in Cambodia’s Svay Rieng Province in 2023】

In light of geopolitical influences, many Taiwanese businesses have expedited their investments in Southeast Asia. Vietnam and Thailand have been popular choices for Taiwanese investors, with Cambodia often not being their top priority. However, Cambodia possesses numerous advantages, particularly the Manhattan Economic Zone located in Svay Rieng Province. The MediPharm Group, which has been investing in Cambodia for over 25 years, will provide in-depth insights into the real situation in Cambodia and analyze its investment advantages.

Svay Rieng Province is situated in the southeastern part of Cambodia, and the Manhattan Economic Zone is the only economic zone within the province with financial service institutions, including Cathay United Bank. It boasts an excellent geographical location, with a drive of approximately 90 minutes from the economic zone to Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon Port in Vietnam. It is closer to Saigon Port than many provinces in southern Vietnam and offers affordable land prices, approximately half to one-third of the land prices in Vietnam.

Notably, Mr. Yang Ke-Cheng, President of the MediPharm Group and President of the Manhattan Economic Zone, is the first Taiwanese individual to establish an economic zone in Cambodia, authorized by the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce as the “Manhattan Economic Zone” to promote international economic exchanges. Meanwhile, the Svay Rieng Provincial Government will implement more efficient strategies to strengthen Taiwanese investments in the Manhattan Economic Zone, especially as a delegation from Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia, plans to visit Taiwan in early October this year for investment promotion.

To enable Taiwanese enterprises to gain a deep understanding of investment opportunities and the environment in Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia, and to facilitate Taiwanese investments in the province, the Cambodian Svay Rieng Province Representative and the Manhattan Economic Zone, in collaboration with the Southeast Asia Impact Alliance, will jointly host the “Investment Briefing on Manhattan Economic Zone in Cambodia’s Svay Rieng Province in 2023” on October 4, 2023.
