Meeting for exchange with professors from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City

On June 8, 2022, the founder of the Southeast Asia Influence Alliance, Mr. Huang Chi-Yuan, accompanied by specialist Pham Kim Thoa, assistant Dang Thanh Chung, and Nguyen Trung Quan, met with Dr. Huynh Tam Sang, a lecturer at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, a part of the National University in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Dr. Huynh Tam Sang currently serves as a lecturer in the Department of International Relations at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, National University, Ho Chi Minh City, and is a research specialist at the NextGen Organization in Taiwan. His main research areas include East Asian international relations, Vietnam’s foreign policy, middle power diplomacy, particularly on issues related to Vietnam, Australia, and Taiwan. His recent focus of research has been on the Taiwan-China cross-strait relations, Taiwan’s Southbound Policy, the U.S.-China trade war, and security issues in the South China Sea.

During the meeting, both parties shared perspectives on the current collaboration between Taiwan and Vietnam in various fields. They emphasized the numerous areas of cooperation, including academia, research, investment, startups, healthcare, education, high technology, and other issues. Mr. Huang Chi-Yuan, the founder of the Southeast Asia Influence Alliance, introduced the purpose and activities of the alliance, the Vietnamese student alliance in Taiwan, and the Tunghai University Smart Transformation Center. Dr. Huynh Tam Sang also presented his research, articles, and future plans. Both parties agreed to actively support each other in the future to build bridges between Taiwan and Vietnam.
