SIA Meets with Legislator Mach Ngoc Tran: Strengthening Taiwan–Vietnam Relations Through Community and Compassion

This week, Southeast-Asia Impact Alliance (SIA) had an honor of engaging in dialogue with Legislator Mai Ngoc Tran, a trailblazer in Taiwan’s Legislative Yuan and a proud voice for immigrant communities—especially the Vietnamese diaspora.

Mach Ngoc Tran

Arriving in Taiwan in 1994 as a marriage migrant, she has since become a tireless advocate for equity, integration, and immigrant rights over the past three decades.

Legislator Mai’s advocacy includes shaping inclusive public policies, supporting the education of second-generation immigrants, and fostering multicultural understanding across Taiwanese society. Her life’s work has had a deep impact on the 600,000+ Vietnamese living in Taiwan today.

SIA is proud to stand alongside changemakers like her in shaping a future of shared prosperity and empowered Southeast Asian voices.
