Dear respected members and partners!
Greetings to all! In recent years, due to geopolitical factors, Southeast Asian countries have become the most crucial markets for Taiwan enterprises to expand overseas. The government initiated the New Southbound Policy in earlier years, encouraging businesses to venture into Southeast Asia. However, owing to ongoing geopolitical considerations, companies are now independently and proactively seeking investment opportunities in Southeast Asian nations.
The ongoing competition and rivalry between China and the United States are unlikely to ease in the short term. I foresaw this trend three years ago, which led me to establish the “Southeast-Asia Impact Alliance” aimed at assisting Taiwanese businesses in entering the Southeast Asian market. SIA top three objectives are as follows:
-
Foster Taiwan’s exchanges with Southeast Asian countries through private sector efforts.
-
Identify strategic partners in Southeast Asia for Taiwanese businesses.
-
Provide consultation services for businesses looking to invest in various sectors in Southeast Asia.
Over the past two years, we have gained some important achievement with a primary focus on Vietnam and Singapore. SIA has been actively promoting industry exchanges between Taiwan and Vietnam, including the electric vehicle, offshore wind power, semiconductor industries, as well as nurturing and connecting high-tech industry talents. In May of this year, we hosted a Family Office Forum in Singapore, attracting participation from numerous top-tier family businesses.
Due to our expansion efforts over the past couple of years, SIA has garnered substantial attention from Southeast Asian governments. In order to establish official channels of communication with government units in Southeast Asian countries, SIA has registered itself as the “Southeast-Asia Impact Alliance”. On August 8th of this year, we successfully held the inaugural general assembly and joint meeting of Board of Directors.
Looking ahead, in addition to Vietnam and Singapore, we will be intensifying our business endeavors in Thailand and India. Utilizing the association as a pivotal platform, we will integrate more resources to assist Taiwanese enterprises in a collaborative approach to enter Southeast Asian markets and create the next economic peak. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for the support from our esteemed members. I believe that through our collective efforts, the association will become the premier platform for Taiwanese businesses seeking to enter Southeast Asian countries.
