As of 2022, Taiwanese entrepreneurs have invested approximately 8% of the total foreign investments in Vietnam, totaling $36.4 billion, making Taiwan the fourth-largest investment partner. When factoring in investments from other third countries, the total investment from Taiwanese enterprises surpasses $50 billion.
Foreign investors have ventured into 19 of the 21 economic sectors, with manufacturing and processing taking the lead at $16.8 billion, constituting 60.6% of registered investments in 2022. The real estate sector follows with over $4.45 billion, comprising 16.1% of registered investments. Other sectors like manufacturing, power distribution, and technical activities also contribute significantly.
In the aftermath of the U.S.-China trade tensions, numerous Taiwanese tech giants have shifted their global presence to Vietnam, attracted by its favorable conditions and free trade agreements. Companies like Foxconn, Quanta, Wistron, and Pegatron have expanded operations in Vietnam. More Taiwanese businesses are planning to establish a presence in Vietnam.
Southeast-Asia Impact Alliance actively promotes collaboration between Taiwan and Vietnam, assisting Taiwanese businesses in identifying suitable opportunities and facilitating their investments in Vietnam.
